President Soan Gardens Cooperative Housing Society Ilays Khan and residents of the society appealed to the State Minister for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi to investigate the alleged wrongdoings of the previous management committee of the housing society and recover billions of rupees from the committee.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the newly elected management committee president Ilyas Khan accused the previous management committee of massive corruption and said that according to the special audit report, former president Ansar Mehmood Gondal and his management committee were involved in Rs 2.46 billion corruption during their three-year tenure and this audit report was present in the office of chief commissioner Islamabad for further action. He said that the new management committee wanted to take each step according to law and merit so a transparent investigation of previous management committee’s corruption was necessary.
Ilyas Khan further claimed that Ansar Gondal launched the extension of Soan Gardens and collected billions of rupees from innocent people in his personal bank account rather than housing society’s account, and neither people got plots in phase 2 extension nor they got their money back. These affectees demand their whole life savings back, Ilyas Khan lamented.
He said that the district administration of Islamabad conducted free and fair management committee elections in Soan Gardens through independent election commission and the previous management committee’s group was declared ineligible by the authorities due to severe corruption charges. Despite the fact that the previous management committee contested elections with a different name, it only secured only 130 votes and accepted their defeat in written. “But now this group is disseminating false propaganda in media against the elections which we strongly condemn and reject,” Ilyas Khan added.
He demanded that according to the new government’s corruption-free vision, State Minister for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi should order a transparent investigation against the previous management committee of Soan Gardens for billions of rupees corruption and pending cases of corruption against them.
