LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Dr. Shehzad Waseem on Wednesday won by-polls on senate vacant seat after securing 181 votes.
Dr. Shehzad Waseem won the vacant Senate seat from Punjab after defeating Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Khwaja Ahmed Hassan.
According to the details 351 members of Punjab Assembly casted votes from which PTI’s Dr. Shehzad secured 181 votes while Khwaja Hassan managed to secure 169 votes while one vote was rejected.
Earlier, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar after taking up Punjab Governorship resigned from the Punjab Senator post.
