PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan appeared before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Peshawar office today in Malam Jabba lease case.
According to details, Mehmood has been summoned by the NAB officials for questioning about his alleged involvement in a fraud during the last Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in KP when he was the former provincial minister for sports, culture, tourism and museums.

In January, it was revealed that the KP government had illegally leased 275 acres of land in Malam Jabba, a tourist resort in Swat, which belonged to the provincial forest department.
However, the provincial government was supposed to lease only 17-acre patch but instead they allegedly gave 275-acre land to a private company on lease for 33 years by violating the rules and regulations.

The land was reportedly leased even after objections raised by the KP Ehtesab Commission and CM’s inspection team.
An inquiry was launched into the matter by NAB officials on its chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal’s instructions.
